Privacy is the exception, not the default. The film sits clear all day and draws power only in the moments you need it private.

1
A PNLC layer that stays transparent when unpowered.
2
Cut to size and bonded to the inner face, with wires connected to power.
3
Power switches the film to a private state, then releases it back to clear.
Built to Spec, Ready to Install
Reverse-mode adhesive film: clear without power, private on demand, cut to size for existing glass.
The same glass wall, private when you need it and clear when you don’t.
PNLC has been tested for 2,000 hours at 194 °F (90 °C) through ON-OFF cycles with no issues.
However, keeping it ON continuously is not recommended as it may stress the busbar over time.
For exterior glass that already has a Low-E coating, no additional UV protection film is needed. For indoor glass, UV exposure is already very low and the formulation is sufficient to resist UV on its own.
The optimal operating voltage for Reverse PNLC Smart Film is typically 48–65 VAC.
PDLC is opaque and switches to transparent upon applying voltage whereas the PNLC is transparent and will switch to opaque upon applying voltage.
Our offering includes both the Adhesive and Lamination types.
PNLC stays clear when the power is OFF, so the glass remains transparent during a power failure. That matters wherever an open view is a safety requirement, such as vehicles, aviation and security areas. Privacy is used only when it’s switched ON.
